PACT Meeting 17/12/2009 Moreton Say Parish Hall

Main points from meeting:

The 20 mph school speed limit has been put in place, although concern was expressed that there was no sign for motorists coming from the A41 down the Drumble. The Highways department had been invited to the meeting, but they did not attend.

A discussion was held about mud on the roads, especially at the time of harvesting late crops such as maize. It was pointed out that it was the farmer's duty to keep the road free of mud, and that if the field was rented out, it was still the resposibility of the landowner. PC Frank agreed to send a letter to one farmer.

PC Frank gave Denise Shaw forms for Rural Watch. If you would like to be part of this, please contact Denise on 01630 638478

One of the lads who was speeding around the village has been issued with a section 59 warning, and that seems to have stopped the problem for the moment.

Now the lead price has risen again, lead theft has increased again.

There has been a drop in agricultural thefts, now that the main offender has been caught.

Date of next PACT meeting to be advised.
