Moreton Say Parish Plan Update

Communications   -- The website at www.moretonsay.org is up and running and you will soon be seeing promotional signs appearing around the parish inviting everyone to sign in and make their contributions.  We are particularly keen to put on information about clubs and events around the parish as well as local news items. The websitewill be updated to include Parish Council minutes, planning applications and a schedule of future meetings  --  let us have your comments !!  The Welcome Pack is still in preparation but we need your input in order to make it as comprehensive as possible.

Clive Hall  --  The Clive Hall is in desperate need of renovation and an application for funds has been submitted to the Local Joint Committee which we hope will be approved at their December meeting. Additional funding is being sought from other sources, including Müller. It is hoped that the work will be completed early in the new year and that a program of events can then be organised. More volunteers to help with the renovation work would be greatly appreciated.

Community Activities  --  The Flower and Produce Show in August was a tremendous success with over 200  entries. It was followed in the evening by the Village Barbeque at the Millennium Pool. We plan to make the Flower and Produce Show an annual event  --  so watch the website for details so that you can plan early for 2010. It has not been possible to introduce new events in the Clive Hall due to the renovation work that is urgently needed  but plans are afoot to introduce “flicks in the sticks”  and other exciting activities as soon as the work is completed. Please let us have your ideas.

Roads & Pathways  -- Patching work was completed during the summer on the Longford- Moreton Say and Longford – Longslow roads which have greatly improved the situation. A complete resurfacing of these roads has been promised for 2010 as well as resurfacing of the Drumble  --  we hope !! We are also continuing to look into providing improved car parking facilities for the Clive Hall and Moreton Say Primary School. A map detailing all footpaths within the parish is now available and will soon be published on the website.

Security and Policing  --  A successful PACT  meeting was held with our local police officers in August  and a Rural Watch program has since been introduced. We are continuing to work with the police in order to get their support for speed limits or traffic calming measures to be introduced outside Moreton Say Primary School and through the Longford bends.
