 MORETON SAY PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of the Parish Council  Meeting held on Tuesday 9th February 2010

At 7.30p.m. in The Clive Memorial Hall.

1.   Members Present:-   Cllr J B Davies (Chairman)

2.   Apologies – None

3.   To approve & sign the minutes of the meeting held on 9th November 2009

                              Proposed by J M Davies

                              Seconded by C Dutton

      All in favour, motion carried that these be a true record.

4.   Matters arising – request that a breakdown of the precept be done

5.   Declaration/Disclosure of Personal/Prejudicial Interest

                              None

6.   Local Joint Committee – the next meeting is Monday  1st March 2010 in The Clive Memorial Hall

The feeling was that this is working well, everyone is able to have their say, it covers a wide range of

subjects, grant money is available for projects.  Moreton Say will stay with the Whitchurch committee

for the next 12 months when the boundaries will be reviewed.

 

7.   Highway Matters

      Reply from Shropshire Council:- Passing places at The Drumbles will be included when the road

      is resurfaced. The gullies along Longslow road have been inspected. The trees along The Pinfold

      are on the highway and therefore the highway department’s responsibility.

      Letter from Ightfield Parish Council saying the crossroads in Moreton Say are flooding badly-

      this has been rectified.

      Local Highway Maintenance Plan 2009/10 now published

      Road closure  Tittenley – Spoonley road from 15/03/10 applied for.

      Complaints that the hedge at Green Lane has been removed but this has to be reinstated.

      Complaints that the Longslow to Calverhall road had not been salted- write to highways.

      Tree Warden – no interest to take this on.

      Delegation/ Devolution of Services to Town & Parish Councils.

8    Planning Matters.

                                          09/70204/OUT – Church Farm, Moreton Say -amended plans – no objections

                                         09/03620/VAR -  Long Meadow Farm, Longford – removal of condition 5

                                           09/03718/FUL           Fordhall Farm, Shrewsbury Road, Market Drayton

                  Renovation ,conversion and extensions to former dairy barn to form butchery & shop, kitchen/servery & café at ground floor level & offices & classrooms at first floor level; alterations to existing vehicular access & connection to main drains sewer.

                  No  Objections

9    Presentation by Moreton Say Schools re funding application. The role of the school is growing, an increase in the school footprint. The land is available and and an extra class room will be completed before the summer. 100% funding for the building.

10  Financial Matters

      Appointment of internal auditor – Sheila Shore has agreed to continue to do this – cost £30

      All in agreement

      Proposition to set up internet banking for transfers and statements.

      All in agreement – it was pointed out that no payments could be made by this method.
